Handro Referral Program Terms
Version 1.0 · Effective October 1, 2026
The short version
- Share your link. When a new business signs up with it on gethandro.com, pays for its first month or year and keeps its plan for 30 days, you both get a credit worth up to one month of your plan.
- It's a credit, not cash. It comes off your next Handro bills.
- Up to 12 rewards in any 12 months.
- Share only with people you know, or who agreed to hear from you, and say that you get a reward.
- Your own businesses don't count.
These terms are between OHE Services Inc., a British Columbia company operating as Handro ("Handro", "we"), and each Handro organization that shares a referral link or signs up through one ("you"). They add to our Terms of Service. Where they differ on the referral program, these terms apply. You accept them by sharing your link, or by signing up through someone else's.
1. Your link
Every Handro organization has one personal link: gethandro.com/i/[code]. Anyone on your
team can share it, and rewards go to the organization. We never send anything to the
people you share it with.
2. When a referral counts
A referral counts when all of these are true:
- It's a new business. It has never had a Handro account, including an ended trial.
- It signs up on gethandro.com, in the browser where your link was opened, within 60 days of that first click. Sign-ups that start in the iOS or Android app don't count, because the app can't see the link.
- Your link was the first. If someone opened more than one customer's link, the first one opened gets the credit.
- It makes its first paid charge for a Handro plan. A free trial alone doesn't count.
- Nothing in section 4 rules it out.
3. The reward
What you both get. Each organization earns one credit worth one month of the plan it's on when the reward is earned, at that plan's regular price, before discounts and tax, in the currency it's billed in. If you pay yearly, that's one-twelfth of your yearly price. The referrer's credit is the lowest of: one month of its own plan, worked out as above; one month of the new business's plan at its regular monthly price; and what the new business actually paid for one month, before tax (if it paid yearly, one-twelfth of that payment). For example, a Team shop that refers a Solo shop earns at most a Solo month, and while the new business has a discount, the referrer earns the discounted month. Amounts are in the referrer's currency, converted at the Bank of Canada daily rate for the day the new business paid, if needed.
When. A reward is pending for 30 days after the new business's first paid charge. Both credits are added when the 30 days end, but only if, at that point, the new business still has an active plan that isn't set to cancel, and none of its payments has been refunded, in full or in part, or disputed (a chargeback). Otherwise both rewards are cancelled.
How it's applied.
- Billed on the web (Stripe): the credit goes on your Handro billing account and is used automatically on your next bills until it runs out.
- Billed by Apple or Google: we can't put a credit on a store bill. Within 30 days of the reward being earned, we'll give you the same value as extra days on your plan through the store (30 days for a full month), usually by moving your renewal date. The stores limit how often we can do this, so we may combine several rewards into one extension. If a store won't let us, we'll hold the reward and apply it as soon as we can.
The limits.
- A credit has no cash value. It can't be paid out, refunded, sold or moved to another account.
- Credits stay on your account if you cancel your plan, and are used if you subscribe again. They end if your account is deleted.
- If a payment by the new business is disputed after the credits were added, we may remove the unused part of both credits from that referral.
- Each organization can earn at most 12 referral rewards in any 12 months. Referrals past that earn you nothing, but the new business still gets its reward.
4. What doesn't count
There's no reward, for either business, when:
- It's your own business. That includes a business owned or run by the same person as yours, and a business whose owner is on your Handro team.
- A Handro creator partner referred it. If the new business also came through a creator partner's link, the creator gets the credit and there is no customer reward.
- Either business is based in Quebec. These terms aren't available in French yet. We'll open the program to Quebec when they are.
- It isn't real. Fake or duplicate sign-ups, sign-ups made only to collect rewards, and referrals that came from breaking section 5.
Our records decide. To spot self-referrals we may compare the two accounts' details and the billing details our payment provider gives us (for example, whether the same card was used; we never see full card numbers). If you think we missed a reward, tell us within 60 days at support@gethandro.com.
5. How to share
- One to one, with people you know. Send your link only to people you know personally or do business with, or who have agreed to hear from you. If someone asks you to stop, stop. No messages to strangers, no bulk or automated emails or texts, and no bought or scraped contact lists.
- Public posts are fine on your own website, pages and profiles, but not where a group's rules ban promotion.
- Say you get a reward, every time. For example: "We each get a month's credit if you sign up with my link." In a public post, put it in the post itself, where people see it before they click.
- Be accurate. Only say true things about Handro. Don't promise prices, discounts or features beyond what gethandro.com shows, don't call it free, and don't add your own deals or post discount codes.
- Don't speak as Handro. Don't pretend to be Handro or look like you're writing for it. No "Handro" in your usernames, domains or page names.
- No ads. Don't run paid ads or search ads with your link, or bid on "Handro".
- No reviews. Don't put your link in a review or rating of Handro (the App Store, Google Play or review sites).
If you break these rules, we can cancel pending rewards, remove credits that came from the breach, and stop your link.
6. What each side sees
Your referral page shows how many businesses signed up through your link and which
rewards are pending or earned. It doesn't show who they are. We never give either
business the other's account details. Our Privacy Policy explains the
handro_invite cookie that makes the link work.
7. Tax
A credit lowers what you pay for Handro. It isn't a cash payment, and we don't issue tax slips or forms for it. Record what you actually paid.
8. Changes and ending
We may change or end the program. We'll post the change here and tell you in the app at least 30 days before a change that reduces rewards, or before the program ends. Changes that only add to rewards apply when posted. Rewards you've already earned stand. A business that signed up through your link before a change still counts under the terms in place when it signed up.
