Text Message (SMS) Terms
Handro · Version 1.1 · Effective date: September 23, 2026
Changelog — v1.1: corrected the list of messages to match what the Service actually sends by text (arrival alerts and appointment reminders; estimate links go by email), and explained that each business texts from its own verified number rather than a number shared across businesses.
These terms describe how text message (SMS) consent works on Handro, what we send, and how to stop it. They apply whenever an Organization using Handro sends you an automated text message. See also our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
How we get your consent
You can opt in to text updates when your information is entered — either when the business you're working with adds you as a customer, or when you book an appointment yourself through their online booking page. The box is never checked for you, and text updates are never required to book or receive service.
What we send
If you opt in, you may receive automated texts about your service appointment: an arrival ("on my way") alert, and appointment reminders. That is the full list. We do not send review requests, marketing, or promotional content by text. Estimate links and estimate-ready notices are sent by email, not by text.
Message frequency varies with your appointments. Message and data rates may apply. Consent to receive texts is never a condition of booking or purchasing any service.
Opt out any time
Reply STOP (ARRÊT en français) to any text to stop all future automated messages from that business. Reply HELP for help. We honor STOP instantly — there is no waiting period. Carriers aren't liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Who the message is from
Each business using Handro texts you from its own phone number, verified with the mobile carriers in that business's own name — not from a number shared between businesses. So the number that texts you belongs to the company you booked with, and replying STOP to it stops messages from that business only, not from any other business that happens to use Handro.
Your number and consent stay private
Your phone number, SMS opt-in status, and consent records are never shared with, sold to, or rented to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. They are used only to deliver the messages described above, through our SMS delivery provider (Twilio), as set out in our Privacy Policy.
